Afternoon all,

Multiple Sites all with INDEX's and IPNC's linking the sites together via VoIP on a BT MPLS line.

Where a user calls from say site A to site B he doesn't get any progress tones (ringing) but the user at site B phone rings and can be answered and the call is fine?

This is the same on all the sites but only for calls made between sites.

The settings on the VoIP Lines are as in the screen shot.

What version are your IPNC's? What level of software are your index's on?

Do they all go through one central site?

ACA IP Telephoney Implement

It could be the fast start. I have seen that cause issues before.

Hi RTGDFM,

The software levels are,

IPNC 3.2 (24)
INDEX 10.1

The sites are not connected through acentral site but meshed together by the MPLS.

kwing112000,

We have got faststart disbled already or would you sugest turning it on?

I've not seen that level of software on an IPNC the only ones i have seen are 2.2 and 3.3. In fact I've just checked with AVAYA and that level doesn't exist.

intrigrant,

Thanks

Should Faststart be turned on or off?

It is turned off on all the VoIP lines.

Thanks

Nick

@ RTGDFM : If software 3.2 does not exist why do i have it on my laptop?
@ nicolasgreening : disable "Local Tones" on all ip trunks.

Addendum : upgrading all sites to 3.3 is highly recommended
