Hi,

Can you please help me and let me know if it is possible to create a kind of chain from different messages to use them as an announcement when someone dial the main number?

For the moment we have message and then the customer is asked to press either 1 or 2 to go to the right destination.

What I mean is to play more than one message before the prompt (i.e. Message 002 then Message 003 then route to destination).

Thank you,

Sorry, I don't know how to change the subject but it suppose to be HUNT, not HUND.

Also my phone's software is 3.6Ca

Thanks,

Jacek

Yes, this is possible.
In PGM231 you enter the Station Group number (e.g. 620) and to this group you record a VMIB message (e.g. 004).
To tie this message to the group check PGM191.
Here you enter the location of the welcome greeting (first greeting) to 004. Also the time before playing this greeting can be set. The you can assign the attendant or any phone in the group, so the greeting is heard when the customer is calling in.
If wanted, you can use the overflow function in the PGM191 to send the call to another group, if no members are available in the first group.

Hi doktor.

Thnak you for the prompt answer but I'm not sure if this is what I want.

For the moment in PGM 231 I have main extension (200) set to:

Day: VMIB = 2
Night: VMIB# = 3
Weekend: VMIB# =3

In PGM191 for our HUNT 620 it is set as on the attached screenshot.

In PGM228 Index 1 is set to:

1 Dest. Hunt Group 620

and Index 2 is set to:

1 Dest. Hunt Group 620
2 Dest. VMIB# 4

This works ok so if the customer calls our main number (which is ext 200) he hear the announcement, then he is prompted to select either 1 for customer service or 2 for directions to our building.

The problem is the announcement is one long message and I would like to break it to two or three separate messages so when we need to change something we have to record only this part of announcement.

I see your point now. You would like to split your main greeting up - into two or more parts.
This type of message is referred to as an ad-hoc message or two part message containg an introduction- and information-part.

If you are using 2 groups with welcome messages, it should work.
For example:
In PGM231 the day answer is group 622. Group 622 has a welcome message VMIB 004 (this will be the first part of your greeting), which is heard, when you call the DID number for group 622. After hearing this message the call should go to overflow after X seconds. If your message is 10 seconds the overflow should be made after 11 seconds.
The overflow destination is another group e.g. 623.
The group 623 has also a welcome message (VMIB announce location) VMIB 005. In VMIB 005 the second part of your greeting could be recorded.
Group 623 has the members installed.
(Maybe one menber should be in the group 622 to get it to work?? Please try it out.)
Let me know about your progress...

Or better:

As the overflow destiantion can be a VMIB number, you can use the group 622 in PGM231, as described, but with overflow destionation to VMIB 2 as you use today.

So calling in on the DDI (direct) number for you main number, this will be answered in group 231, where you will have your introduction message recorded in e.g. VMIB 006.
After the callers have heard this message with a duration of maybe 20 seconds the overflow takes place.
Overflow time will be 21 seconds and the overflow destination will be VMIB 002 as you use today.

Another set up with another group (e.g. 623) would serve the night answering position.

Ok,

It seem simple and works apart from one. I can not route the call anymore depending on what customer have choosen (1 for customer service, 2 for directions).

Is there a way to set up call routing with this?

BTW: How do you select which call routing table is in use?

Thanks!

Is there a way to set up call routing with this?
-> Overflow from Station Group in PGM191 to CCR message in PGM228.
BTW: How do you select which call routing table is in use?
->See in PGM231 -> VMIB xx, where xx is the index of PGM228.
