ipLDK20 and IP Phones

Hi all,

I need to install an ipLDK20 with 11 IP telephones. I have never dealt with an IP phones on the ipLDK20 so I wander if I will be able to register all 11 phones with 4 port L20 VOIM module? I know that it's shared voice channels but just an aknowledgement will be ok.

Anyone done this?

Which type of IP phones. It works with LG-Nortels own LIP phones using H.323.

If you are going to use up to 11 IP Phones (LIP) i would suggest you to extend the standard 4 voice channels to 8 with a L20-VOIU.

Following examples to calculate how many channels the VOIM allocates during a conversation.

1. LIP to LIP (Without NAT) 0-Channels.
2. LIP to LDP (or any DKT) (Independent of NAT) 1-Channel.
3. LIP to LIP (At least one behind NAT) 2-Channels.

I already suggested to the customer that adding an additional card will be better solution i.e. to max out the configuration.

However all of the IP phones will be on its own segment so no NAT will be implemented and beside the IP sets there will be only 1 digital terminal. But yes just to be on a safe side I proposed that scenario.

That is set. However I have one more challenge. They are using wireless across their office (it is around 300 square meters open space) and they got rock solid wireless network that will be used only for the IP phones and we plan to use linksys wireless bridges to connect the terminals. I will eventually let you when the test is done.
