Hello all

Does anyone know why my IPLDK20 loses all programming and configuration after say a "Power Cut" etc.

I know that you can get a battery for a back up, but I would of thought that the settings were saved on a chip inside the system?

Thanks in advance

Rick

The ipLDK 20 has a battery inside that needs to be turned ON at install...
Also

When the engineer installs the system SW3 - Dip switch 4 must be set to the OFF position, after setting the Nation code and initilizing the system.

Regards
Steve

We have had a couple of IPLDK 20 systems do this about a year or so after install. We changed the back up battery and it seems to have cured the problem (at least until the next storm.)

The batteries of older systems do run down after time. The problem has been cured on the newer build systems. To permanently fix the problem, a replacement battery with a diode fitted in series needs to be fitted. This battery can be sourced from the national distributor of the LG product in your country, although they will probably prefer to fit it themselves.

We had also this battery problem.
But it was solved (or nearly) by taking back-up of the customers data after each datachange.
Customers the never suffered a long "down time".
New batteries were installed and lasted at least 5-7 years.

We had the same issues where the battery didn't save the system configuration.

The fault apparently lay in a diode that would drain the battery and eventually cause it to fail.

Upgrading software to 3.8 or later fixed this as the system config is saved in flash memory.

You could lose time and date but everything else is backed up.

We no longer have issues with systems defaulting due to power cuts. Except for the odd 400volt spike here and there.
