I have a client with IPK system and the VMP voicemail card on a compact flash. Customer has two tenants. Tenant two has box 198 as their opening box. Their Dial 1 option transfers to an outside number which needs to be changed.

Do I need to use CoSessions to attach to the serial port on this system? I have Cosessions and done it years and years ago. Is that at transaction box to adjust.

I checked all speed dial bins and wasn't able to find the number in question.

You will need cosessions to modify it. One key options can only br done that way. 198 is probably a T box.

Could the 1 key option dial the external number directly or must it go to an extension then forward out?

I still like the repartee product.

i attached my laptop (win xp) with null modem cable and tripplite usb adapter. All of these are known good parts and I use them all the time. But could not communicate to the voicemail. setup voice/support and direct connect using com port and speed at 19.2 or 57.6 but nothing. Anything else to check in Cosessions?

I figured out there is a default LAN IP on the voicemail system, can I use that to make the changes via web browser?

DIP SW 1 position 3 = on is for remote connection, off = local connection. Changing it requires a VM reset afterward. The cable should be a straight through. Try all speeds from 9600 to 56K. Each version of the card used a different setting. Mostly 96K, 14400

If it's on, i can dial in remotely using cosessions and transfer to x663?

calling in remotely and having the operator transfer to 663 results in ERROR and a busy signal. I suppose the modem isn't enabled.

The VM card must have a MDM-U10 piggy back card installed for remote connectivity. That daughter board has the modem chip on it.
SW 1 - 1 ~ 4 should all be off. 1 enables COM1, 2 on = stopped for mainteneance, 3 = on enables COM 2 for remote connection, 4 = not used.
We always used the 9-25 pin cable that came with the card. It should be a straight through cable for local connection.

i managed to get in via cosessions via the x663 via autoattendant. You cannot be transferred by a user/human.

i found the t-box in question and the one key dialing option is most likely a dummy port externally forwarded. It's basically a repartee software.

Question: in the Transfer->X field, can I change X to a full telephone number?

Rather than getting into pbx programming but I think I will have to do it via the pbx.

You should be able to do that. I believe the 9 for trunk access is defaulted, but you may need to check the system set up options and confirm it. If the 9 is required in the number field, set it up with a , (1 sec pause). EX: 9,18885554444.

Thank you! And by getting in remotely I guess we've confirmed that local access to the VM by cosessions will not work unless the switches are set right and the VM is rebooted.

What a pain! But fun! ?

At least you can get in and administer it. There is a lot that you can do by logging in through a phone. Verify in the mailbox class of service the box has manager rights. call the VM and log in the user, then dial 0 to get to manager options through the phone.

I saw there is Les Larson 9696 system manager which I forgot about. I will look at that. Haven't tried the one key option yet.

I put in MIFM card in the A slot and configured the slot for MIFM by phone but still cannot connect by SAT using serial port 3 and straight serial cable. Do I require a reboot for that to work?

No reboot, but you need to assign it's function in 7-3-2. Assign it as SMDR. DO NOT delete LES LARSON. Much like sandy simmons it's the default log in box, probably with several tboxes attached.

i only set the slot as MIFM. I did not do the SMDR part. Thank you!!
