I have a customer with an IPK with 2 slots avaliable. They are wanting to add 8 IP phones to remote workers homes with high-speed connection at all locations.I have installed the dial-up version before, but i'm unsure what equipment and IP config i need for the high-speed version. Thanks for your help.

You need IAD(8) card with the Megaco software. From their it will be up to your network side. If you want to put a hard phone in each house you will need a hardware VPN from each site. If you want to use softphones you can use a software vpn from each location. Have Fun!

My customer is not on a VPN.What would the type phones (hard or soft) be best, also can you put an ADA adapter underneath the IP sets for a cordless phone?

Your software version also has to end in x500 for IP functionality.

Not sure about the cordless phone thing, I have a customer using a Plantronics CS50 and loves it. As for the Hardware VPN, if they don't want to setup a hardware VPN you HAVE to use the softphone, problem is it is a software that runs on the PC and then you have to get a USB headset or handset and then it is click click click to use the phone, some people don't like that. IF you HAVE to have a real phone and HAVE to not use a hardware VPN MCK makes a great Gateway solution for this. I actually think you HAVE to buy it from NEC as their gateway but you basically put the unit in, cross connect regular ports to the unit, then put one of thier modules in the bottom of a regular phone a it will work without a VPN as long as you open the ports on the router. The MCK Gateway solution is more money but it is a much more stable platform than the IPK's IP Phones. I ditto what dontworx said, Have Fun! I HATE the IPK IP phone solution.
