Good Evening All,

We have the following setup, the users have iPhone's which sync up with a front end 2003 Exchange server, which in turn is linked to a back end 2003 Exchange server.

For the most everything works fine, but every now and again, when the users send emails from their iPhone, the recipient receives an email with no message body in it. When Sent items is looked at on both the iPhone, and on Outlook, the message is visible.

As it's an intermittent problem, it's making it hard to diagnose.

Any advice?

TIA
Mj

If a message is very larger (probably over 1 MB or so) the iPhone won't download it. This could be why it happens with only some messages.
The Fatum poster in this post stated using IMAP instead of Exchange Client

This is the other way round though. Recipient gets blank message visible in Outlook from the sender. So Exchange is getting the sync.

Anything in event log?

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been caught up in a couple of things.

Nope, there's nothing showing in the event logs.

I'm currently trying to figure out where the mail body is being lost, is it the front end server, the back end server, software on either server. Are there any logs that can be viewed that might assist?

Resolved.

At some point in the past, the back end had had KB924334 installed, but the folder associated with that \exchweb\6.5.7651.60 was missing.

Copied the folder from a working 2003 front end server and it resolved the issue
