IPECS 300 Fax Comms Error

Hi

I have a customer with an IPECS 300, SLTM 4, SLTM 8, PRIM and VOIM. IPECS on F.0Di, SLTM's on 6.1Bb and PRIM on 6.0Db.

Their faxes and PDQ machine have suddenly stopped working, they keep getting comms error when sending a fax. When a customer tries to send them a fax they receive comms error on their fax.

All SLT ports work with a Test phone ok, so ports are working.

We have tried a fax on both SLTM4 and SLTM8 in case one module was faulty, but same result comms error.

We have tried the fax on both ISDN30 and SIP lines with same result.

I have tried modem enable on and off.

We have rebooted system.

Any ideas??

Perhaps the provider made some changes with the PRI? That's happened to us several times. They back-end the PRI/ISDN with VoIP and suddenly the fax stops working properly.

Hi,

Under Station Attr II (PGM 114) try setting 3.1 audio on. I would also make sure they only use the PRIM.

I would expect issues when using the sip trunks, even with T38 enabled it is marginal in my experience.

I agree with nfcphoneman as well, I have seen carriers use voip in the backhaul and faxes etc stop working.
