We just had an IPDA installed, the Siemens engineer (tech) setup 5 test telephones for us. I am able to create the phones in our hiPath 4000 but can't figure out how to direct it to the IPDA location or activate the pen.

I can use regen-sbscu:xxx and just change the pen and station number, but I would prefer to us assistant.

Any one?

When you add the phones in the assistant or in comwin
just add them in with the pen of the remote shelf

Teaching anyone how to use Assistant via this platform is difficult. Suggestion: attend the HiPath 4000 BASIC training. Then you will not only be able to use Assistant and AMOs to perform Moves, Adds, and Changes, but you will also learn maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques. And now that your company has installed IPDA, you should also attend the ADVANCED course, which covers most IP-based solutions on the 4K. Earlier this week your 4K was on the brink of failure - probably one reload shy of being DOWN. Yes, attending training costs money, but that cost will seem minimal if your 4K system is down for several days, and your company is disconnected from paying customers!

Iamnothere, do you know of anywhere the course is taught in NJ or everything has to be in texas?

Iamnothere is 100% correct - you need to insist with your manager that training be provided if you are to look after this equipment.

I think that I can get approval for one class (online). I think I have the basic covered, don't know if adv is too advanced for me.

The BASIC class is three weeks. Texas is the only official location in the USA. The ADVANCED class is two more weeks. Both of these courses are lecture-based with hands-on the equipment in the 4K lab.
They are not offered online.

If and only if the Siemens Training Center is not an option: I do know someone who will travel to a remote location and deliver customized training. Would you be interested?

I am trying to get some type of a approval to any type of training.

Sounds good. The BASIC training is difficult. It is DEFINITELY the starting point for you and 99.9% of all techs. The ADVANCED course assumes that the BASIC material has been mastered.
