When we try to change to a static ip address W2K SP1 crashes on some machines. This also happens when we try ipconfig /release at the c ommand prompt. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Darren

If it's only on some machines, first place I'd check is the NIC driver. Get the latest one for your cards, and see if that helps.

Good Luck!

I'd agree with CE - verify that you're actually using the correct NIC driver and that it's the newest one available for your cards.

I've also seen this happen with certain NAT setups, particularly those that drive IP over IPX to a NAT box.
