How exactly do I run IPCONFIG to determine what my external IP Address is? I am a newbie with NT, but I think this will let me know the IP address that my ISP has assigned me.

Left click on START button
select Run
type "cmd" return
type ipconfig at the prompt in the window that appears

The info returned should be your assigned IP, the netmask, the default gateway and possible others.

to get a complete view type ipconfig /all. for help type ipconfig /?

before you do this create a short cut to DOS on your desk top. go to properties on the DOS icon and change the buffer size to 80 . This will allow you to scroll up in the DOS window and view all the info.

have fun
