I have a Windows 2000 pc and iPaq 5550. Active Sync 3.7 is setup and works fine for file transfer.
I have setup eVB 3.0 with PocketPC SDK and Common Components, and have written the "Hello World" app which works fine on the emulator.
However, eVB refuses to recognise the iPaq. The Platform Manager doesn't see it - even though Active Sync is running, the device is connected and ActvSync displays that the device is synchronised.
I have re-installed eVB.
Does anyone have any ideas?

If you are running PPC 2003 it will not work with eVB. You must create the .vb application and install it which means you cannot use the debuger. You will also need the leagcy runtime files for the PPC 2003 device to run your application.

Thanks NJLDoc - This has saved me a lot of time and effort spent chasing something that should work!
I know it's a naive view, but why is it that situations like this continually occur in the pc world?!
Thanks again for the help.

I've just spent the usual 30 minutes trolling round the Microsoft site looking for eVBRuntime - which the installed app on the iPaq says it needs. Any idea where I can find this please?

Thanks once again. You have been very helpfull. As a point of interest, how did you find it? I tried searching with CE, Runtime and VB but couldn't find it!

Actually when I first ran my application on the PPC, it used a pass through connection to the internet which then opened on the PDA the download site for the runtimes. I saved the url in a text file on the PDA and transferred it to my desktop for future reference.

NJLDoc,
Have just downloaded and installed runtime - and it works. A big thank you and a star for you!
