For months we have had a roadrunner business to business VPN connection from a remote site to the main office and it has functioned with no issues. Then many machines attempting to login to our domain could not with a variety of symptoms including cannot find domain, etc. After a great deal of checking of the computers and the network equipment this error message was found in the router log:
IP_VFR-4-FRAG_TABLE_OVERFLOW: FastEthernet0: the fragment table has reached its maximum threshold 16
The threshold value was set to a higher value and now the problem has disappeared. What could possibly have changed to require this setting to be changed?
