I have a V2 controller running 9.1.12 (213). I attempted to install a new DS30B2 module right out of the box. When booted up, the controller sees the DS30B2 module running 10.1. After some reboots the module did not downgrade so we performed the downgrade to 9.1.12 which worked perfectly however we have had nothing but issues (some phones boot up , some don't, etc..) All the led's on the DS30 intermittently blink on/off (almost like you had quickly unplugged the cord from the system). In any case, none of the ports in the module are usable. I factory defaulted the entire V2 controller and rebuilt the system from ground up with no luck.

We then ordered another DS30B2 module after being advised that it is fully compatible as long as we are on version 9.1.12 (which we are). So, the new module arrives and almost exactly the same situation. So, I attached the DS30B2 module to my lab system with a V2 controller running 10.1 and the module works perfectly fine (even though status shows the module still on 9.1.12).

I wanted to attempt at erasing the DS30B2 modules using DTE cable but all I see are erroneous text/characters. I know my DTE cable is working fine as I can connect to multiple lab V2 controllers with no issues. i am not sure what is going on with these DS30B2 modules and at a loss. I may simply need to upgrade system or get a DS30V2 module. Thanks for any input someone might have regarding this!

Hi adc110,

Just a quick question, did you change the operating mode on the module?

7.9 DS16B/30B Port Mode Selection
Each IP500 DS16B and IP500 DS30B external expansion module in a system can support either DS phone ports or BST
phone ports. The modules default to DS phone port operation. The operating mode is set through the system
configuration. · ! WARNING
This process requires the IP Office system to reboot in order to complete the changes. The reboot ends all current
calls and services. · The process of loading the appropriate firmware for the selected mode takes up to 10 minutes during which time
the module is not available.

To change the IP500 DS16B/30B module port mode:
1.Within the IP Office configuration, select Control Unit. The control unit and external expansion modules are
listed.
2.The IP500 DS16B and IP500 DS30B modules are listed as DIG ADPx16 RJ45 and DIG ADPx30 RJ45.
3.Select one of the external expansion modules. In the unit details, the Operating Mode drop-down list is used to
select what type of phones the module supports. Select the required mode.

For DS ports, select DS - 1400, 9500, 5400, 2400, T3, 440 Series Phones. ·

For BST ports, select BST - T7000, M7000 Series Phones.
4.Click OK.
5.Click on the save icon and save the updated configuration back to the IP Office system.

If DTE gives odd characters make sure your speed is 38400.
