Have a new IP412 we are configuring for a client as a crash kit ..... the new control unit has R2.0 out of the box.

I had the software installation instructions regarding the stepping up of the SW versions that are required to upgrade to get to R4 or R5.

I believe they were ....

Original R2.0 upgrade to R3.059

R3.059 to R4.1

R4.1 to R5.0 (26) which is the final in-service SW load needed.

Can anyone confirm the versions needed and stepped installation order?

Thanks!

All i know is that you can go to 4.2 in one go when you are on 2.1

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

An IP 412 can be upgraded all the way in one hit.

Some other IP4XX models need a special build to reconfigure the flash memory.

it is sometimes prudent to go through the interim builds if upgrading a running system ( especially when moving from a release that used LCR to one that uses ARS) but if you are going to be restoring a config file into a replacement box then it is not necessary

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

The new IP412 has R2.0 SW load ... not R2.1.

I may have the mgr file with BINs on a 2.1 CD ....

Can the 412 go from R2.0 to R5.026 in one step? I think it can if we do the unverfied upgrade thru the TFTP server? Anyone have those steps ...
