Hi guys,
I am installing an IP406V2 and I cannot get the Auto Attendant to pick up. The client can dial out all day long, get's dial tone etc. but NOTHING when calling in. Here is what I have checked so far:

1. Checked my short code and spelling and it's good to go.
2. Had the cliet dial the short code from his phone and he get's the AA.
2. Checked all the IP's, good to go.
3. Replaced the 4 port Analog daughter card, still nothing.
4. Had three guys from the distributor look at my configs, they say it's all good to go.

IP Office Unit version 3.2 (17)

Any body ever run into this and or have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

You say you get nothing? Do you mean absolutely nothing - no ring tone, no tones at all, just silence?

What is the Short Code eg 299?
What is the destination in the Incoming Call Route?

Can you set the destination as a User and get a call coming in?

No it just rings. The short code is *89. I tried sending the incoming call route to an extension and NADA!!

HELLLLPPPPP!!

This guy has got NO incoming phone calls :)\

Later

Erm. are the licences for the voicemail or enabled or valid??

Also does the call show via call status as actually being presented to the switch?

One strange thing was that when the client put in the 4 Port Analog card (I ma doing this remotely) he said that a bunch of the chips were in upside down? Ever heard of that? I haven't, thought he was crazy but now?

No, when I run system monitor it shows NO incoming traffic?

I think it may be a Bad IP406V2? I am at a loss here.

It could be that the lines do not come within spec of actually being recorgnised by the ip office. (Know this has been an issue on the ATM 16's)

Check earths.
Also Try setting the line to Loop start BUT with out the CLI.

Another thing to bear in mind is that the first line could be faulty. Out going wouldnt matter as the IP Office would just hunt through the lines. However with this the user may experience diffuculty dialling out say 1 in every 4

Check the direction of the line-incoming,outgoing,or both.

if you client mentioned the chips being upside down, are you sure they got the board in correctly? check the config to see if the board shows up under the Unit Tab and you can see each line under the Line tab

1. The monitor sees the analog card
2. Checked the incoming, outgoing, they are good.
3. Tried setting it to Loop Start with NO LCID, got NADA!!
4. Not sure what Check earth's means?
5. If I call in on any of the 3 analog lines I get nothing leading me to believe it is not a bad first incoming line? Would that be correct?

Kepe the idea coming!! I appreciate the help!!

Mike

Are you sure that the lines ring? i.e. put 4 analog phones on them and ring in. Test until all phones have rung.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Check Earth means check the grounding

starting to sound like your lines are not ringing in, can someone onsite verify these lines are connected correctly to your provider??

If they have an old analog phone laying around, they could unplug the trunk lines from the IPO and connect directly to the phone and see if they get dial tone, dial out and if they can answer an incoming call,

I tried hooking the analog line up to a phone and it rang ok...as a matter of fact they all ring a phone seperately if you hook a phone up BEFORE it hits the IP Unit, haven't tried with a phone on each line?

you stated you are remote, did you test with the analog phone today?

Yes, client checked an analog plain old phone today. Got dial tone, can dial out etc.

Has this ever worked???

why did you have the client replace the analog card in the first place?? Can they put the old module back in?

Is the trunk in remote access mode (i.e *9000*) AFAIK there is no indication of system state if remote access mode is set.

*9000* toggles the 1st trunk of the IPO into remote access, so try entering the sc again (or repatch the trunks so teh first line appears on te IPO as line 4/8)
