I am having an issue upgrading an IP406 that is running 2.1(27) I have tried going to 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2, and all have failed. I think what I need is a copy of either 2.1(35) or 2.1(78) before I can get it to go further. I have searched in vain through Avaya's site and the web and have not found them. Would anyone be willing to email me one of those files to try? Thanks in advance!
Mike

I have 2.1.77 for you if you can use it?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

you can upgrade to any release (supported by your hardware) without the steps of 2.1 between them. If it doesn't work then there might be a different problem.
Usually the system password is the problem

tlpeter...Thanks for the file...I'll give it a shot.

Westi...I have tried numerous file versions, and I have completely defaulted the unit...even going so far as to use the CLI commands during the boot to wipe the flash. So the unit & password are default...there is no configuration in it at all...each time I have tried it goes from 'contacting' to 'checking' and then responds with 'file transfer failed'...I have used the avayafw.bat file to ensure there are no firewall issues...but no change.

Don't forget this is a version 1 unit

don't use IPO406u.bin

You want the other one!

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks for all the responses...I probably should have given more information at the start. This was a IP406V2 PCS12 that I was having issue with.(with 2.1...go figure!)

Using the Link intrigrant provided gave me the work around...Once I had everything hooked up, a network link, Office Manager open and the working directory set to 3.0(999) I did a boot, and used the CLI commands to wipe the Config and Bin off the unit...it automatically began a TFTP download from my laptop and once the boot was complete it was showing as 3.0(999)...Was able to then do the full process upgrade to 5.0(26)...Thanks!

good, now take the unit and put it on a shelf and get a new IP500v2 because they are more fun :)

just kidding they do fine for a lot of things.

We still have a lot of happy customers with their IPO 4xx on various releases, still running strong...

A simple mind delivers great solutions
