Dear all,

We have an Avaya IP406 system, which I believe features a PRI card which is from an Argent Office system - I was led to believe that this combination would work fine, however there are a couple of problems. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated:

- Outgoing calls, the quality sounds terrible. It is almost as though the speaker volume is too loud and there is distortion. However, there's not.
- It seems with incoming calls, it simply beeps and goes "This service is not compatible with this call"

We're using a Digital Station, and 2030 handsets. I have tried various different versions of the software and BT have been out to ensure that the line is working fine (which it is)

All the equipment was new, except for the PRI card which was bought second-hand. This obviously makes me suspicious. However, I'd like to exhaust all avenues before I have to tell the boss about having to spend more money!

Thanks in advance,
Will

Okay, found the problem! Something was overlooked: The "companding" was incorrectly set to U-LAW not A-LAW.
