Customer had IP403 with 2.0 & 1 T-1 (MCI with 24 voice channels). The only short code that was set up for dial out feature was { ? . line group 0 }. Everything OK. Upgraded system to v2.1, added second t-1 card, and connected new PRI circuit, tried to set up a dial 8 group and send calls out PRI (line group 1). Calls in are OK, but unable to call out, and no D channel activity. I changed short code { ? . line group 1 } and calls did go , but digits (4, as defined by dial digit count in system )were passed as unrecognizable number to Telco. I tried other short codes, but those only resulted in no calls established (although these short codes worked for other line group 0 when configured). I changed dial digit count to 11, and calls do completed, but there is a delay until the timer (4000ms)kicks in for calls less than 10 digits. I know this is not right but it was the only way to get calls in and out. Thanks

Can you assign a dial out code like 9 or 8? This way you can have no dial delay issues. We use 10 digit dialing here, so our short codes look like this:

9xxxxxxxxxx
N
Dial
(PRI/T-1 Group)

91xxxxxxxxxx
1N
Dial
(PRI/T-1 Group)

This method leaves no delay when dialing both LD and Local. You will have to make some changes depending on the carrier as to what digits they want to see.

Any time you use open ended short codess like N you will have the delay issue because the IPO is waiting for you to stop dialing.

Try setting the dial delay count to 1000 (this is the default in uk, but I think it is longer in the US because you need to dial en block)
then add the following short code

Short code N;
number N
feature Dial.

this was sugested i another thread & seems to work

I am located in Florida.

Short Codes I tried:
[8]n;
n
line group 1
dial

8
.
line group 1
secondary dial tone

8xxxxxxxxxx;
n
line group 1
dial

With these codes I could not get calls out.
I then deleted these codes and programmed:

?
.
line group 1

Calls would attempt, but I also had to program in system:
dial digit count from 4 to 11, so then the system would look for 11 digits or time out (4000ms) before processing calls. calls will complete but I should be able to set up short codes to match dialing pattern.

jjjjohn,

In your post you use a lower-case "n" in your short code examples. Be mindful that IP Office is VERY case-sensitive - and is looking for an upper-case "N".

Mike

I would also change the line group for your secondarydialtone shortcode to 0.

Out of curiosity why are you trying to direct which calls go out over which PRI in this fashion?
