Hi,
The advice I've gotten here in the past has always proved invaluable and I'm hoping you folks can help again.

Yesterday we tried to upgrade a customers IP403 v1.4 to a v3.0, starting by doing a backup, removeing the old Admin suite, installing the new suite, running the upgrade wizard, upgrading to a 2.99, back out of the wizard, went back in, upgraded to v3.0 and all seemed right in the world, but when we backed out of the wizard and went back in, it showed the 403 was back at r1.4. We tried this several times with same result, we even tried going to 1.99 first with no luck.

Have we somehow missed a step?

Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

franke

You have to upgrade to 1.99 first, then to 2.99 and 3.0 after.

Does the upgrade wizard show 'upgrade succesfull' when you upgrade to 1.99?

Thx knIPOog, that is one combination we didn't try (of course), yes, it did show that for 1.99 (and for 2.99 as well).

i know this sounds a little long winded but i'd go from 1.4 to 1.99 to 2.1(15) to 2.99 to 3.0

mk, i believe we have some 2.1 disks, just gotta wait for new appointment with cust

thx

sorry for taking so long to get back, but we just got the go ahead the other day, so here's the skinny:

Tried to go from 1.4 to 1.99 to 2.99 to 3.0 and it took and i was all happy and giddy...until i walked around and tested the phones, only to find half of them didn't work...couldn't break dial tone, no display. It appeared as if the base unit was not 'seeing' the expansion module.

So after a long while of scratching my head, i took it back to 1.4 then to 1.99 then to 2.1 then to 2.99 then to 3.0. It tokk it agai and this time i saw that it had also upgraded the expansion module. I walked around to all the phones and everthing worked and i was happy and giddy once more.

thanks guys for your help, once again this site and it's members have proved priceless!

always upgrade modules to the end version before upgrading the main units. Saves a lot of grief
