IP403 not seeing names/numbers over IP trunk to S8500

I have IP trunks between an IP403 and S8500. Everything works fine, except users on the IPO side just see "outside>" when placing or receving calls over the IP trunk.

Users on the S8500 side see the IP403 users names and extensions when calling inbound or outbound.

They are not integrated with QSIG since we dont have a license for it on the 8500 side, but the trunk works fine. Also, when running monitor i can see the extensions from the NY side in the logs, yet they dont get dislpaye don the phones!

It looks like this issue might be resolved in the new firmware, but it doesnt appear to support IP403. Do i need to go to a 406 so i can load the latest firmware and resolve this issue?

the s8500 is not sending the caller id
it has nothing to do with the 403
i don't know what to do about it but i have seen it before overhere

As above we have this scenario running just fine on 3.2 (54)

if its not sending anything, how come the monitor on the IPO clearly shows the number and name of the person on the 8500 side? If the info is in the log on the IPO, it seems like it could be on the phone.

So how do you get CLID working between the two? You have to go QSIG?
 
Not Q Sig no, we are using normal IP Lines in the IPOffice. Whilst I boot up my work laptop to look at our office config post your ip settings up on here if you would not mind.

To be honest our IP line setup is exactly the same as our link to our other IP Offices.

We are set at G.729a and have fast start/OOB DTMF/Allow Direct Media/Voice Networking/Fax Transport checked.

H450 is even on in the IP Line settings to.

What SW level you at and what phones you using?

Here's are my settings on the IPO side.

G.711 ULAW 64K Enable Fast Start checked, nothing else

I'm on 3.2(54). Phones are 2420's

Try activating your Voice Networking.
I know this is for SCN support BUT give it a try

I activated the voice networking box, didnt change anything. However i was only able to Merge changes since its during business hours.

I will try bouncing it after hours and see if it has any effect

did you use any documentation from Avaya to set these up? if not I have one I got a while ago and it seems to say that the displays should work. If you want I can email it if you drop your email here
 
It,s in the S8500

look in ASA (Avaya side administration)

Change trunk-group xxx (Trunkgroup you programmed)

Look for

Send Calling number: Y
Send Name: Y
Send connected number: Y
Format: Private

Also do a list trace TAC xxx (Trunk acces code of the trunk)

Then you can see if name and number is send.

Voice networking and H450 is not used with an IP-trunk to the S8500.

Everything was as you described, only Format was public instead of private. I changed it to Private, but can't test until tomorrow..

Check if extension in S8500 has send per station CPN send calling number set to y and that public-unknown is administrered for trunk group for IPO
 
I'm a little confused exactly what you wanted me to check.. is this all in the trunk group?

I dont see per station cpn, i do see send calling number is set to Y.

the "format" says private, is that where it should be public-unknown?

sorry, i'm a lot familiar with the IPO
 
ok i checked on a few extensions, and they do have send per station CPN set to Y. I think i'll need a little more advice on the public-unknown piece.. thanks for yoru patience
 
enter change public-unknown, it's where administer what cli to send on the trunks.
 
i'm there but i dont have the hell to put in.. i'll do some research


it is totally blank, think thats the prob?
