Looking at rolling out IP voice on my network. Currently using analogue phones, analogue expansion module, phone manager on clients etc.

To move to IP Voice, i envisage having a USB headset/handset plugged into PC. iPhoneManager as the client software which sends the packets down to the 406 switch via the network. The 406 will then strip the header info off the packets and send it down the ISDN and onto the (traditional) voice network of our carrier (BT).

My prime reason for doing this is the infrastructure saving and also to take part of the IP Voice applications once the call has hit our switch.

Is this an over simplified view? Can someone enlighten me if i've missed anything out? Just looking for some straight forward gen on the infrastructure for putting our voice over IP.

Many thanks
