IP Tunnel inside of an existing IP tunnel?

Folks..

At work we have a IP tunnel over our existing WAN to allow outside access into a limited number of live IP addresses for device testing. (Our current tunnel is to another one of our main sites and they just allow us full access in and out).Now we got a request to setup a site to site tunnel with a different company for testing their product. My question is, is it possible to setup a site to site tunnel over and existing IP tunnel ?? I'm guessing its OK as long as the 2 endpoints can talk to each other, but i have never tried it.

Should be able to do that. My company maintains 4 full time VPN connections to different end points as well as VPN client connections. When configured correctly should not be a problem.

The site that you want to do this at does have full time static internet connection ??

Yes it does Joamon... Statics at both ends.. Thanks for the input..

Im guessing it will work fine as both new VPN devices (one on each end) will just see it as a basic IP network..

Should not be any problem to do that then. Only limitation is the hardware, the IOS, and the connection speed. Remember that VPN is mostly for making secure connections and is not the best solution for transferring large amounts of data. Depending on the equipment (if Cisco) make sure to do a show process cpu and show process cpu history after any network or configuration change to make sure CPU is operating within acceptable limits.
