we have a client with multiple switches,

1x main ip500 with 16vcm, other sites with varying vcm modules all connecting to the centre "Star" ip500, via scn and ip trunks

site 2 site 3 ----- local #

site 1 --------site 4

local #

we can dial from site 2 a local site 1 number , and it dials out from site 1, saves tolls, works fine

we can dial from site 1 a local site3 number , and it dial out from site 3, saves tolls, works fine

what i am after is how do dial a site 3 local number from site 2, while going thru the common site 1 system,

i have tried shortcodes, ars, etc, but can find a way to ip trunk to ip trunk calls

any ideas?

On site 2 send your calls directly to the IP Line towards site 1 but change the number first, put a # in front.
In Site 1 you can add a shortcode in the IP Line comming from site 2 like this:
SC = #N
TN = N
Line ID = VoipLine towards Site3
Action = dial.

Now a call on site 2 to the number 12345678 ewill be send to site 1 as #12345678, on site 1 the ipline shortcode will recognize this number, strips the # and send the original dialled number to site 3.
in site 3 this number will be evaluated against the systems shortcode list and as it has to dial out on the local trunks it will just do that.
Alternetivly you can leave the # as it is in site 1 and send it to site 3, then in site 3 you can add a shortcode int the receiving trunk and strip the # and send the line to the local line ID.
Get it?
