Has anyone set up an IP trunk between Avaya and Shoretel? I am inheriting an existing Shoretel installation, run an Avaya shop and link systems across MPLS. I can't find any technical notes on the integration of the two. Looks like Shoretel only does SIP trunking which means I need a SIP Enablement Server on the Avaya side. I am reluctant to spend the money for that if I can't find proof of concept for the connection. I'm also thinking about running Trixbox in between to do the conversion since I think I can go H.323 from the Avaya to Asterisk and then SIP from Asterisk to Shoretel. Any thoughts anybody has will be met with great appreciation.

I just integrated an IP Office and ShoreTel but I didn't use IP trunks so I can't help much. I used a T1 switch and a crossover cable to the T1 card on the IP Office. There was an application note for the Definity that I just used and made it work for the IP Office.
