I'm trying to setup compression between IP-Phone to IP phone on the same LAN.

One phone is in zone 2 the other is zone 3, also I have intra zone compression to yes. Zone assignment

Method Zone ID
1001 1 9 9 9 1 1 1 Manual 2 1
1002 1 9 9 9 1 1 1 Manual 3 1

The Tech Handbook tell's me.
A call from an IP phone to an IP phone does not require licensing

If got the form Voice Quality Monitoring: True
After making a call from zone 2 to 3 I look in the form Voice Quality Statistics

24 2009/Feb/16 13:58:19 1 1002 148 0 0 0 3 True 08:00:0f:3a:f9:d7 10.15.8.36 9000 6961 10.15.8.0 10.15.8.35 50462 IP Set 5330 IP G.711 (A-Law)

The call stays on G.711 not on G927

Also my Wireshark tells me that the used codec is G711

Im running single site 9.0.1.17 / 9.0 UR1

Anyone did this before and checked that it worked ?

If I had to guess, the issue is with your testing. Because the 2 phones involved in your test have a layer 2 connection available, they are using it.

For proper testing the phones should be on separate LAN's with a Layer 3 router in between.

Working fine on 9.0.0.41. Might be specific for that phone model. I don't have a lot of those.

what type of phones are they? Can't quite see the end of the text!

You only need intra zone compression if you want to compress calls WITHIN the same zone, so put that to no anyway.

Thanks for al the input I got it working.

It works on the same LAN within the same zone and out side between 2 zone's
A simpel DBMS SAVE did the trick to get it working.

Was this a lab system that had never had a DBMS save?
