Hi

We have always used the Linksys PAP2T device for fax extensions without any issues but they have discontinued the devices and replaced them with the Cisco SM112. We have had endless fax issues, it connects but does not complete the sending or receiving of a fax. We have tried a newer software release on them but still have the same issues.

What devices do you guys use?

There are different Mediatrix ATAs around and are Mitel preferred but can be a little expensive. We have found in the past have been very stable. There are good configuration guides on MOL too.

We have used Zyxel ATA's in the past too. Cheap and cheerful but require regular reboots so wouldn't recommend.

Thanks

We used the older mediatrix unit's in the past but because of cost and the SIP trunk limitations we changed. Will have a look at the newer models.

ChrisMitel. What model numbers have you had success with?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Had exactly the same issue with the new Cisco.

2 things to try:

In the cos of the sip phone configured on the 3300, make sure you have the Camp on Ton Security / Fax option to yes

In the Cisco device enable T38 (I know it doesn;t use it) but those two options stopped the issue

I would try the 3300 COS one first

Cisco :

voice

line

- Enable Line 1
- Nat Mapping enable Yes
- Nat Keeping Alive Yes

Network Setup : Static Ip adress

Mitel

You have to creat a generic Sip User and Cos Sip

We have been using Audio Codes Boxes and they seem to work really well.
