ip subsystem issue

Hi there.

I am having a trouble which is confounding me.

I want to put an IP address of 10.10.100.x onto the lan1 interface so that I can connect it via the bcm element manager.

I have done so, but when I try to ping the box, I get no response. I figured that ping might be blocked, but another bcm release 3 I have on the same switch responds just fine.

Under the System / IP Subsystem / Internal Subnets I have modified the internal LAN to my 10.10.100.x address, and a class C subnet mask. However I cannot find any place to put a default gateway.

Can anyone help me?

net link manager/next hop on primary link is the gateway setting.

Thanks for the response... however I can't seem to find where that is in my BCM Element Manager?

What menu / where is it located?

(Sorry for my ignorance...)

Hi Curlycord.

I went into the Router on the BCM and added in the LAN section my ip address 10.10.100.x. Now through my switch I can ping the unit and get a response; however I still can't get the Element Manager to talk to it.

Any other ideas?

make sure allow network access is checked

Thanks for the advice.

I have gone through my Element Manager and the router in the BCM50e and cannot find where you check "allow network access". Can you tell me where it is hidden (what menu)?

Hi Curlycord.

No it wasn't. I patched current, and for some reason, the 10.10.100.x will still not work. I'm beginning to think there is something funny with my BCM. I do want to try another computer, just to eliminate that.
