Hi, I am trying to find print on standards within the fourth octet of the IP address. I have read in the past where there are standards like X.X.X.0-5 are routers, X.X.X.6-15 are Switches, X.X.X.16-50 are servers. etc... Any assistance in the right direction appreciated.

The firms I have worked at have had home grown standards for that firm, I have never seen an official standard.

.1 default router
.2 to .4 other routers
.5 main switch
.6 to .10 other switches
.11 to .219 DHCP computers
.220 to .249 static printers and servers
.250 to .254 reserved for IT use

it the company standard I am most used to

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

There are no standards related to this. Use whatever addressing scheme you feel like using, but use it consistently.
