hi all, i have a problem with ip softphone set up on a s8500. when working locally on the lan it all works fine, you can connect to the call server and dial away no problem. When they use their wireless network they can call out and ring from softphone but you get no speech either way. Any pointers please?? Regards Andy.

Over VPN? Are the H.323 fixups set correctly?

What shows up in a list trace? Is the call signalling working (they login OK, can dial)?

What version of CM?

You probably need to open the udp ports in your firewall on your network reqion screen. Also you need to specify those ports in softphone. From the login screen select settings then advanced then enter your local port range.

hi thanks for response it all works except for voice, softphone logs into the call server and you can dial receive calls etc just no voice/dialtone. CM is 3.2 the system is running 4620 all voip phones, one network region is programmed, as I say it works fine when i have ip softphone logged on the local Lan. I am struggling with this as I am sure it is the customers firewall but then again do i need to set up another network region???

I run into this all the time and 99% of the time it is the FIXUPS in the firewall. Just need to check them and test again.

I have used the roadwarrior several times on my home wireless network. I can not remember ever needing to change a setting. I would think firewall in this case also..

Hi all, I am still having issues with IP softphone i have upgraded to 5.2 latest and when connectiong locally on the Lan i can log in and make and receive calls no problem. When I connect via Wireless through ADSl and then via VPN client software I can dial and everything else but get no voice...... Helppppp What do I do now,

Firewall port blocking issue. Get with your firewall admin. Check your UDP ports on 'disp ip-network-region X'

Agreed. This is a problem with your VPN/Firewall....

Tell the firewall admins to adjust the H.323 fixups.
