We have upgraded an Option 11 to R.4.5. then using OTM

WE have installed the Voice Media Gateway Card successfully

However we cannot install and get the i 2004 sets to communicate with the VMGC

We have tried this in the lab and on the customer site

We have tried this on three separate customer orders (they have ordered an upgrade + IP sets)
We have installed a number of these solutions on R.3 without any problems and have not seen any documentation that says you need a sig. server with R.4.5

Has any one had the same problem and resolved it ???

Thanks in anticipation

We have used R4.50.25 and 4.50.75

We cannot transfer the node properties to the MC card

Thanks for your assistance

Sure...
MC have to be the same release as SS.
So, from SS, choose software upgrade for MC and upgrade MC from there.
Reboot MC, then transfer will be possible.

just to clarify
by SS you mean system software not Sig. server.
As we do not have a sig. server in this solution

cheers

Sorry. By SS i mean SigServ. Software of MC have to be upgraded :

1- From PCMCIA in MC slot (procedure in NTPs)
2- Using ftp (hard to do...)
3- With new compact flash.

OTM have to be 2.xx at least

We are NOT using a Sig. Server
Just the MC and IP sets

We are using OTM R.2

That's what i described...
That kind of upgrade is not so easy.
You may have on hand the file for upgrading MC. Then using OTM or
1- From PCMCIA in MC slot (procedure in NTPs)
2- Using ftp (hard to do...)
3- With new compact flash

In some case. it's also necessary to upgrade firmware of the MC first to be able to upgrade the software. In the upgrade package there is paper sheet decribing how to do it

The latest PEP for OTM is required for 4.5 - I think it is SU13.

Yes we are still having the problem

Will checkout the PEP - thanks

Has anyone else installed this solution without any problems ?

When you installed the VGMC, did you do a setleader command and make the VGMC the leader of the Node? The setLeader command set the IP address of the card. If you do this it should work.

I've checked and setleader is correct and OTM PEP is installed

This is a toughy !

please post the IP configuration of the node and the IP configuration of one of the set.

The problem could be that your STPM parameter or the PDT password defined in OTM is not correct. If you have changed the default PDT password on the CS and you haven't changed the default in OTM, you won't be able to upload the config to the MC card. Also, I would have checked if you upolad system data, be sure to check out the SMTP properties of the card that it will be synhronized with system data.

PDT passwords are default
Dont quite understand the bit on upload system data
Please could u explain a bit more

When you go into the node properties in IP Telephony and click on the security tab you'll see that SNMP read and write iss greyed out. If you go to the general tab you'll see that you can check wether you want to update SNMP parameters when you update system data.

When you define a new system in OTM and update system data, if you then define the IP telephony after you have to enablee the SNMP parameter retrieval during updating system data. You then have to update system data again so the site and node is synchronized. This is surely the best way to do it.

But you can when you transfer node and card properties select to manually write the SNMP string if you check the box for SNMP r/w community string. In rls 4.5 I think the default should be otm321.
