Hi,

Taking my final exam for my CCIP next week and its IP Route which I have passed before as part of my CCNP(5 years ago) but its the new latest version. As I remember with the Old exam part of the study is about Frame Relay networks, Subinterfaces, MBNA etc especially with OSPF. Im very happy with everything else bar this, for some reason the subject just wont stick and I cannot get my head around it, and would like to know it, Any advice or good documents on this one?

Cheers, Lee

Well, could be lucky for you. I just looked at the exam topics for ROUTE, and I don't see any mention of frame-relay. Guessing that will eliminate subinterfaces most likely as well.

The bad news is, looks like more on IPv6 and eBGP than what was on the old BSCI exam.

Hi Lerdalt,

OSPF has a big section with configuration over NMBA networks etc, thats what Im having trouble with, guess ill have to wing it ;)

Happy with BGP but not looking forward to ipv6, lots to still learn, hopefuly theres not much on it.

Cheers, Lee.

yeah, I do remember OSPF being a beast way back. Gotta admit after looking at the exam topics now, I'd be a little scared of that exam.

Good luck.

To be honest it seems the same, just a little more detail on EIGRP,OSPF an BGP and dropping ISIS. IPV6 isnt so bad. Once you get to grips with the addressing the routing is more or less the same as with IPV4. Think im ready, just have everything crossed for no OSPF over FR questions ;) Ill let you know tomorrow.

Horay! only a couple of questions on my dreaded subject, wasnt too bad. Passed 895. Time to put my feet up.

Surprised, since the NBMA acronym you rearranged twice, both wrong...lol

Of all the topics on that exam, I'm surprised OSPF over NBMA network segments would give you the most pause. Usually after the CCNA, those kinds of scenarios are kind of old hat to you, compared to other topics there like BGP and redistribution, which CCNA's wouldn't have had a taste of up to that point. It's probably different for you, though, since you'd already have passed the BGP concentration exam at that point.
