Got a question for ya'll. If I have a 2000IPS with a Remote PIM (an actual Remote PIM not a Pizza Box), and I have TDM Dterms hanging off of it. My question is if you make a station to station call in the Remote Site, does the call get sent through the IPLA, get translated into IP, and then sent back to the Main Site, to be translated and resent back to the Remote Site? or is the Remote Site CP smart enough (from the download) and active enough (being in standby mode) to realize that both phones are assigned in 19XXX and just connect without sending the call to the Main Site and chewing up bandwidth?

You can talk about us, but you can't talk without us.

Hi Jhenke,
Calls made in the remay in the remote site stay in the remote site. The IPLA is not used unless a TDM station calls an IP Station or vice versa. The only thing that is sent to the main site CP24 is the signalling to indicate which phone is off hook etc. I am suprised you are using FP 19 for your remote PIM. What series software are you using?

Thanks,
Chris

If you use the B4 peg CM's you can monitor the bandwidth from the MOC screen to see there was none utilised while the 2 stations in the remote site were in conversation.
With software revision H1 (R8)and higher it is recomended that FP's for the remote sites start with 32 and higher.
FP 19 can be utilized but is not recomended. FP 19 is typically reserved for virtual PIM 7 when IP Dterms are to be utilized.
