This is not Nortel Related but the question is

How much bandwidth does IP phone require? At a home office environment? If I have 3 people using IP phones on a dsl or cable modem, how much bandwidth would this require?

depends on compression ratio used, sampling rate, and protocals.

G.711=64k
Sample Rate 10ms=80 bytes
Ip header=40 bytes
link type 802.3=18 bytes
total = 110.4 Kbps per phone conversation

G729=8k
Sample Rate 10ms=10 bytes
Ip header=40 bytes
link type 802.3=18 bytes
total = 46.4 Kbps per phone conversation

And thats the bandwith for the voice in one direction only.
rememer the call is both TX and RX.
So if your LAN is half-duplex the voice packets will use twice
the bandwith on the segment.
