Hi All

Puzzling issue here, we are moving IP Phones from an Extreme switch to a cisco 3750, the two switches are configured the same but when the IP Phones are connected to the cisco switch they sit trying to discover the IPO. but they work perfectly when connected to the Extreme switch. Now obviously this is an issue with the cisco switch but as they are configured exactly the same just thought i'd check if anyone else has experienced this?!?!

The ports are configued as 100 meg full duplex on both switches...

Thanks.

From another port on the cisco can you ping the IPO? Does the IPO have the extreme as its gateway? It sounds like a routing issue between the switches.

If a laptop is plugged into the port the phone was tried in then you can ping the IPO. but when the phone is connected it sits on discover. The IP address of the cisco is the same as the extreme was so no IPO changes required I would assume. Those more involved in this issue are implying it is an issue with cisco 3750s and IPO units but im not having it.

You could have a look here how a Cisco is installed propperly.

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

Have you tried enabling "portfast" on the switch? If you have STP configured you can get some really weird issues with startup connectivity until you enable it.
