Recently did an upgrade to 8.0.44 and a few weeks after we starting experiencing our IP phones constantly restarting. They seem to be getting random VLan Id's and are having trouble getting DHCP. Has anyone else experienced this? I have tried to download 8.1 but Download website keeps telling me my user or password is incorrect on Avaya website.

Thanks in advance for any help.

the phones renew their IP information via DHCP every once in a while (set timer is always the same actuall) check the option 242 in your DHCP server on Data VLAN and also on Voice VLAN. Also the phones send a keep alive signal to the system and the system responds, if either one gets lost the phone reboots.
If they come up with a wrong VLAN ID then the switch might be trouble.
there are so many options on where your problem is that you need to start with knowing how the network is setup and what type of switches are used, layer 3 or layer 2, what is the native VLAN on your ports, do you share voice and data on the same cable or separate......
Start from the absolute basics and go over it one by one and check off what is good.

I've had this happen to my Phone form time to time, though it usually happens after I log in and out of my phone a few times. Nothing I do seems to make the phone want to talk to the server. I can set up all of the IP Addresses Manually on the phone, do the Reset, Clear, nothing seems to work.

I leave it unplugged for a Day or so and I can usually get it working.

The Last time this had happened it had something to do with the fact that the phone was trying to log into an Extension that seemed to have already been thought of as logged in. Rebooting the IPO caused the Phone to not reboot. Ended up not having anything to do with the network setup on the phone, more of it was confused as to who its Identity was. Even though it was stuck on DHCP, Registering, Discovery, or what ever.
