Some one is looking to put a phone off site that has a CICS. Is there a devise that could attach to a CICS that would allow an IP phone to work on a CICS 7.1?

IP phones on a CICS

No there wouldn't be with the CICS. There are no IP capabilities on the CICS. The only way you could have an IP Phone no the outside and be somewhat connected is using a SIP Provider.
-Setup a VOIP.MS sip trunking account for $25.
-on the CICS end, purchase a $50 Cisco ATA adapter and tie into one of the CO trunks.
-Set up the Cisco ATA Adapter with VOIP.MS as the main account.
-Set up the SIP Phone to the same VOIP.MS account using a sub account.
-Log both devices into VOIP.MS.
-VOIP.MS allows you to dial between subaccounts/accounts for free via a six digit extension number.
-By accessing a CO Line Port, you will be able to dial between both systems for free (except for the monthly 99 cent DID cost from VOIP.MS), but remember its using a CO Line and not an intercom line.
-If you want some functionality to access other lines on the CICS you'd have to set up a DID on VOIP.MS and a CO Line on the CICS and tie in DISA to make pages, etc.

Thanks Joe. I'll pass this along to the customer wanting this.
Your welcome! It's not the easiest solution but it can take advantage of the existing CICS and SIP technology.
