We have a BCM 400 rls 3.7 with a Sonic Wall Router. We turned NAT on in the router to allow for a public static IP address to hit LAN 1. We opened up all the ports necessary for the Unified Manager to work and it does. We can access the Unified Manager and make changes remotely. With an IP phone we are able to connect to the BCM but it wont fully connect, we opened up port 7000 for the ip phone and was wondering if there are more ports that need to be opened up for the ip phone to work. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Remember that if you are calling from an IP Phone to an another IP Phone that the media is directly between those two phones. So if you have a remote IP Phone calling a local IP Phone, both ends have to be able to be routed to the other IP address/ports. That probably means that you have to open up a significant number of IP addresses/ports and is why the recommended approach for remote IP Phones is to use a VPN.

Thats a good point. I will recommend this to our IP department.
