Have IP 406 v1.4 w/VCM10 4 remote users working over VPN with IP hard phones. System worked great for 6 months plus, now all of a sudden the IP phones keep rebooting every several minutes. Calls can be established w/voice then the call just drops. The VPN tunnels are always up.
Any help would be great.

Basic troubleshooting response - what has changed? I would suspect something in the networks first, assuming you are the only one making changes on the IP Office.

If the phones are rebooting it usually means they are "losing sight" of the IP 406 every few minutes. Are you having other network issues - massive broadcast storms or something else clogging up all your bandwidth? Are you using static or dynamic routing? etc. etc. etc.

Good luck!

Are the users unplugging the phones, for a rearrangement of furnature, or something? Could someone be messing with the system, and logging someone else off the phone, sust so it loses its ID?
May want to check the Monitor to see if it gives any clues.

Hi,

we had the same issue with our 4620SW IP and it was QOS. the problem you are facing is that there is substantial trafic on your network and your QOS is not on or it is missconfigured. In the other hand, you might have an infected computer or faulty NIC that is transmitting like crazy, thus floding your network.
Use this tool to sniff and try to figure out what is going on with the trafic and then look at your swithces and routers to see if you have QOS enabled. sniffer is at
ftp://ftp.ethereal.com/pub/ethereal/win32/all-versions/
and then just click on 10.4 install and run it. realy nice tool and it is free.
