Hi, hope you can help and the below make sense.

I am trying to configure up a I1120e handset. For example the phone is physically at site A , but it will be configured as an ext on site B.
On a I2004 phone we would configure the phone with partial DHCP and in the S1 address put in the IP adderss of the node ID for site B. So the phone still picked up a IP address (for this examaple a site A IP address) but the phone would point to the sig server on Site B and register to that sig server. We would then put in the TN and node id for site B and we would then have ip phone working physically at site A but with a site B ext.

But with the i1120e and I1140e phones the new release of firm we have for them there is no option for Partial DHCP just dhcp yes and no.

We dont want use no DHCP and configure the phone with a fixed IP address.

we are using rel 4.5 and H323 virtual trunks.

Has anyone had this prob, know a way around it.

Many thanks Nick.

Use DHCP=yes and then either manually configure the S1 address or use a TFTP-based config file to provide a MAC-specific setting.
