Hi All,
On our 2400 IPX (1 pim), I need to install a few IP Dterms at the remote location. These phones will have to use codecs other then default G711 to conserve the bandwidth. I am following the P-75 document from the Feature Programming Manual.
The first command ALOCL I enter a network address of a remote network, but the LOC-ID remains grayed, so I can't assign that.

Now I am thinking maybe my PBX doesn't even support that kind of networking.

How can I find out if this is even possible on my system?
Thanks

But does the LOC_ID already have a number assigned?
Do you already have IP phones set up in your location or is this remote site going to be the first?

Yes, the phones are already here and working at our main site. Now I have to move them to the remote location. I don't see any LOC ids assigned yet. ALOCL & LLOCL only show the default ID-0 assigned to the main site.

I wonder if I need some special features installed/unabled to do this thing.

have you tried entering the IP details for the new location to see if that will then allow you to add a location ID?

The only place that I can see to add a LOC ID is in ALOCL.
And it is grayed. Is there some other place where I should go first, before ALOCL?

You must assign location ID 0 (zero) first before you can assign another.

Sorry I didnt finish! Did you check AIVCL to see what is entered? You need to enter A LOC-ID: 0 / B LOC-ID: 1 for your ID on command ALOCL.

Checked AIVCL, it was empty, so I entered info for both LOC, but the ALOCL still stays grayed. I have to dig deeper.
Thanks

Ok, I think I am on the right track now. It has something to do with the IP addressing range that was originally setup in the switch.

Thanks
