Hi Guys,

I want to get a couple of phones working from home on qos enabled broadband. I think VPN is the best way to go but If I had to what would your recommendations be about making the node a public IP address? Is it just the node or would I need the ss,mgc, dsp all public?
thanks

For calls between IP phones, the media path is direct between the two phones. The remote phone therefore needs to be able to reach all other IP phones in order to have two-way communication.

The current firmware for the IP1140's supports VPN from the phone, so the phone can authenticate to your vpn concentrator, then there is no need to make your other elements public IP's.
