We have CS1000 release 5; wanted to know what IP Phones we can use?

Any of Nortels IP phones

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS AND AVAYA

The 1200 series isn't supported and neither is the 1165. I would assume that all the 2000 series and 1100 series (with the possible exception of the 1165) would be compatible.

What about CISCO IP Phones, can they be used on a nortel switch? Does the Signaling Server care?

Lost, they can . . buy you have to flash the Firmware . . . . to UNIStim or SIP if you have licenses for that.

And back to your question about flashing firmware, you do it through a TFTP server . . . .

I don't recall the exact procedure, but for the Nortel IP phones, you put the firmware on the CS1000 via Element Manager and restart the phone. It'll pick up the new firmware after it takes to the Sig Server. You can reboot the phone in LD 117 I believe.

Minimum releases:
- 1120E/1140E - 3.0
- 1110 - 4.0
- 1150E - 4.5
- 11xx Expansion Module - 4.5
- 1165E - 5.0
- 1210/1220/1230 + 12xx Exp'n Module - 5.5
