IP phone problems

I have a customer with a 3.6 BCM (no patches)3/5 split and 4 PEC's. They have 24 H323 trunks connected to a Definitey PBX. Calls both ways work as long as the call goes to digital phone on the BCM.
Calls to the Definitey with an IP phone works fine. Calls from the Definitey connect (ringing and caller ID) but no voice traffic either way. Calls between the digital phones and IP phones as well as IP to IP phone calls at the remote office work fine.
I2004 phones
No NAT on network.
In summary no voice traffic to an IP phone when the call comes in over H323 trunks.

Straight away, this looks to me like an IP routing problem.
What leads me to this is the important point that the audio to/from digital phones is fine, suggesting no problem with the Definitey PBX or its VOIP trunks.

Is the Definitey PBX on the same IP subnet as the IP phones and as the BCM?
If they're not, and if the phones don't have a route to the Definitey PBX, then you can have missing audio from the phones to the Definitey PBX.
Also, if the Definitey PBX cannot route to the IP phones' subnet, then you can be missing the audio the other way.

I upgraded to latest SU. No luck.
I was able to get it to work if the Avaya called a 6800 extension number. The IP phones in question have 3800 numbers. The routing in the Avaya is the same for both extension ranges. The existing/ original digital sets on the BCM are also within the 3800 range and work.
Something must have glitched when I did a dn renumber or the BCM dosent like the digtal sets and the ip phones in the same range.

Are there any routers involved in the calls between the BCM and the Definity?
