We have a customer in the UK with an IP office 412 with VCM modules install.

They have 1 remote worker in the states who they want to connect back to the IPO412.

The coroparte network is protected behind an ISA server and the guy in the states has an adsl connection.

Firstly I know I will need to extablish some sort of VPN tunnel so the phone can talk to the 412, is there any device statside that is capible of connecting via ADSL to the ISA via an VPN (RRAS) to enable the network to be established.

Secondly does anybody do this currently and if so what is the quality like.

Thanks

It would probably work, but the problem is there would be tons of latency between the USA and UK, probably enough to where it wouldn't work reliably..

I know we have this setup and it works.

We have a BCM from Nortel and use softphones (IP) and both ends are using ADSL. It works fine for us. Then again, we are calling from Canada to the UK.

Thanks

Hi TheAvayaGuy,

Can youl tell me what kind of VPN devices do you have on both sides.
How many simultanious calls do you have, whats your ADSL bandwith? Is ADSL 1024/256 kbytes bandwith enough for 3 calls with codec G.729a?

What about ADSL router with VPN capability, can you establish a VPN tunnel betwen sites (IPOs) ... or should I use standalone VPN device like NetScreen (it's quite expensive). Thanks.

Regards,
