Hi all!
I have 50 IP telephones (DBC 4422,DBC4425) on BC12sp5 (ELU32 R6A,fir.R3D) and I want to put them in one VLAN on cisco switch 2950.
Any ideas?[ponder]

Use VLAN settings in config file and use Vendor spec.# 43 in DHCP.
We have use this config for a custumber with 120 IP phones and it works very well!!!!!

Hi Trident,

What should i configure in vendor spec in DHCP?

I have configured one switch port with my voice vlan, and i haven't configure that vlan id in phone, and it's working what are the advantages configuring vlan id in phone?

Regards.

Don't mean to thread steal but we have just taken delivery of 40 DBC422 R3A handsets. We have BC11 SP13 but cannot get these particular handsets to logon successfully. We do have earlier DBC425 R1 handsets working OK.

Has anyone else encountered this problem or, even better, found the solution ?

njohn, did you setup your webserver properly?

yes daddy we believe we have set up the files on the Web server correctly.

The DBC425's upgraded themselves to the later R3 boot and application images from the server. They then promptly failed to logon too. So we put the older R2 files on the Web server. The DBC425's found and loaded these images the they started working fine again. Not the DBC422's though. They simply failed to load the older images and just sort of 'hung'

Today, our Ericsson partner found that the R3 DBC422's require BC11 SP14. We only have SP13. Tomorrow we should know if we are successful or not.

Thanks for your interest.

SP13 must work also,

did you create the DBC422 directory on your webserver? it must contain a copy of the config file from DBC425 dir.
firmware is taken from DBC425 dir since config-file points to that dir

Today I verified with our web server administrator that the directories do exist. We've also had a packet sniffer on the network and both this and the debug log for the phone show that the correct files are being accessed.

The DBC422's are of recent manufacture (November 2004) and R3A so perhaps it was only earlier versions of the handset that work properly with BC11 SP13.

Ericsson seem quite sure that SP14 is required and ran up a test system to prove this. They are coming to our site in the morning to load SP14 into our system. Nothing happened today as far as a fix goes.

Well, today I'm happy to report that our system was upgraded to BC11 SP14 overnight - takes a while apparently - and that our DBC422 R3A handsets are working fine.
