IP Phone Kem for BCM4000

Nortel makes a Key expasion moudule for the ip2004 phone.
however i am told that it will not work with the BCM 400.
Does anyone know if it will work with a BCM400

it doesn't matter if it is bcm400/bcm200 or bcm1000.
The KEMs will work with release 4.0

is it possible to upgrade from 3.6 to 4.0
