I2004 on CS1000 stuck on "transfer last num 2224 local mode"

User says she didn't transfer anything. Phone was working and then she noticed it was not. Site is about 300 miles away so I can't get to it but I have had her try:
unplugging and plugging back in: boots to same message
Used up,down,up, down etc.. to reset: boots to same message
I telneted in and did a cslogin to:
disu/enlu - no effect
tried to out the phone and rebuild but I get SCH8783 error
"The monitored or monitoring set cannot be moved or copied"

here is a tnb of the set:

Did you try to do a dummy change on it like change the DES to something else?

I tried that just now and it did make the change but did not affect the set.

Another weird thing - My user is able to get dial tone and even made an off-switch call to her cell phone succesfully but she can't call anyone on switch by extension. If I dial her extension from here, it rings until voicemail picks up.

If I type "rst tn" I get a SCH0099 TN? error message

RST TN <tnb> After putting in the TNB you get it??

Mato' Was'aka

Yessir, it won't even let me finish typing in the tn

but I just noticed sopmething in the tnb - what is that BFTN? It happens to be the TN of the phone in an office that this user just switched offices with...her DN used to be on that 61 23 tn but they were recently swapped...

scratch that - bftn 61 23 is the front desk phone (An i2004 with two KEMs) could it be present on that KEM and preventing me from changing?

she was previously on tn 61 24

Yup - nulled the bfs key with my problem phone's TN and now I can out and rebuild. Waiting for user to call me back to see if it worked...

bummer. Completely rebuilt the set and it comes right back up to "Transfer Last Num" and local mode. She is going to go swap the set with a currently working set to see what happens.

Think you just said the key word - local Mode. This phone is probably part of a branch office. If true - there will be a TN also on the Branch that should look the same as the one you posted except a couple prompts - make sure these prompts are defined correctly:

MOTN 062 0 00 22
BUID 1901
Zone <-- check working phones to make sure you assign correct zone

then there must me an entry in the NRS for 1901 under the main office endpoint.
Then restart set.

Where do I find the MOTN? I don't have access to NRS - I do have access to Element Manager for that site but the NRS seems to have different login that I don't know. Vendor probably protecting me from myself (rightfully so. lol) - or, more likely, protecting THEMselves from me.

I do know I have the Zone right - 017 is their site.

the main office tn is the tn of the site it is registered to. local mode tn on a branch office would be short like an option 11 tnb

Mato' Was'aka

Login to the branch again ("I telneted in and did a cslogin to")
and print phone - you should see MOTN and BUID

That TNB in the first post is straight from the cslogin session - am I missing it? because I don't see either MOTN or BUID.

Yes, this particular phone is at a remote branch on a BCM50 that gets its' dial tone from the main branch CS1000. I am logging in to the CS1000 to print the phone and that's where I go to change names and add and remove phones for that brtanch and about 7 others. I can also get into the BCM with Business Element Manager if there is anything there that might help. I recall seeing the terms MOTN and BUID somewhere but it's just been too long and I can't remember... I can also get into Element Manager and see the isetshow report:

Whoops - grabbed the wrong line:

62 22 is the tn I am concerned with right now (Although that other one having the same problem - they are the only two reported so far. And both were working fine yesterday and this morning. Nobody down there knows of anything that happened...or they ain't saying. ;-)

I think they don't know they are in local mode. Have you checked the circuit between the main and the B.O.?

Mato' Was'aka

Well, I haven't checked the circuit but there are 30 other IP phones there working just fine.

I'm still waiting on the results of swapping with a known good set.

OK, I found the set in BCM Element manager and the IP terminal details for the set in question. THe MOTN is 62 22 and buid 1931 so I changed that to 1901 and changed the BUID for the other set to 1931 on MOTN 61 24.

do I need to do anything else to effect the change? She is going to reboot the sets and get back to me.

Everything is coming up Milhouse now. Thanks to all who made me look in different places and especially learn new things!
