Hi there,

CS1000E running 6.0. In Element Manager when I select System > Software > IP Phone Firmware I get an error stating "There are no Signaling Servers present in IP Telephony Node 1909 configured in Call Server 10.139.50.2." When you click OK I get another error stating "Error Loading Firmware Information." When I finally get to the firmware screen the TPS Firmware columns shows all "Not Available" and I cannot upload new firmware.

There is definitely a signaling server in the node. Calls are being handled just fine. In LD 117 stat ss displays the signaling server, the correct node number, and Link Up." When a phone with old firmware is plugged in it updates to the firmware version already on the SS.

Any idea what this issue could be? The only thing I could think of is the IP Address, username, and password prompt in the LTPS firmware section when creating a new node. I've got this entered as the node's IP address and the nortel username/password. I've tried other combinations without luck.

I found this report below

Problem Scenario:
CS1000E CPPM rls 6.0, 7.0, 7.5
Log in to UCM, connect to EM, click on Software, IP Phone Firmware

Expected Response:
IP Phone firmware for the node to be displayed

Actual Response:
Get message: 'There are no Signaling Servers present in IP Telephony Node…..'
IP Phone firmware screen shows all TPS Firmware as 'Not Available'

Analysis from Avaya :
There is an issue on EM side. The error message 'There are no Signaling Servers present in IP Telephony Node' is printed out from selectElementToPing() function, that is placed in management/plugins/em/emWeb/src/main/webapp/js/upgdfw.js.

The message is printed out since CPPMv2 signal server is not considered as a valid platform type. The reason for the error is that the new H/W type (CPPMv2) is not added in the Java script code.

Check the hwType in the /var/opt/nortel/Jboss-Quantum/conf/baseOs.properties file

Resolution:
rls 6.00.18: nortel-cs1000-emWeb_6-0-6.00.18.65-10.i386.000
rls 7.00.20: nortel-cs1000-emWeb_6-0-7.00.20.10-26.i386.000
rls 7.50.17: cs1000-emWeb_6-0-7.50.17.16-32.i386.000.ntl or later

It looks as if you need to update the patch nortel-cs1000-emWeb_6-0-6.00.18.65-10.i386.000

Aaah. Shucks. That's going to be a problem. Needed a card slot freed up so the UCM is running in VMWare, which of course is not supported and of course reporting an unrecognized hardware type (aside from this it works quite well). I've tried altering the hwType in that config file without much success so far.
