Hi,

just a simple question.

When a non-ip phone (system, analouge) calls an ip-phone the connection goes through the call server/sig server, right?

When it is a ip phone to ip phone the signalling goes through the signalling server from one to the other and the actual voice transmission the phones takes care of them selves?

Is this right?

I have a strange problem regarding IP - IP so I just need som basic understading.

IP-Phone to IP-Phone. Correct. Signalling is between the IP-Phone and the Terminal Proxy Server application - which is one of the applications running on the "Signalling Server". Media (i.e. voice packets) flow directly between the two IP Phones. Note that if you have three IP Phones in a conference, then the VGMC comes into play since the conference is mixed on the CS 1000 "conference" circuitry.
